Spike Names Development Producer for Original Series

LOS ANGELES: Erin Mechanic, a former development exec for Endemol Shine Group's Ardaban, has joined Spike's original series team as development producer.

In her new position, Mechanic will work under Chachi Senior, Spike's senior VP of original series. She will be responsible for the generation and production of internal creative concepts for the network's unscripted programming as it continues to expand its gender-balanced audience.

At Ardaban, Mechanic led the company's development team and supervised the production of various pilots for such cable channels as CMT, WE tv, TLC, A&E, E! and TNT. Earlier in her career, she served on the development team at Shine America. She also worked on the 82nd Academy Awards and as an independent contractor for a number of theatrical research and marketing projects.
