Spike Hires VP of Original Series

NEW YORK: Chris Rantamaki, formerly Discovery Channel’s VP of production, is taking on the role of VP of original series at Spike TV.

The newly created post will see Rantamaki responsible for overseeing the development of non-scripted series. He will be reporting to Sharon Levy, Spike’s executive VP of original series and animation.

Rantamaki had been with Discovery Channel for four years prior to his new hire at Spike. Before this, he served as executive producer and producer for more than ten years on a variety of reality hits.

"We’re thrilled to add someone of Chris’s caliber to our team," said Levy. "With such extensive experience in the reality television world, we look forward to him playing an instrumental part in developing programming that resonates with our viewers."
