NEW YORK: Showtime Networks and IFC Films have reached a new exclusive theatrical output agreement, delivering a host of movies, including Oscar nominee Boyhood, in the premium television window across all platforms.

The new five-year pact extends on the companies' existing deal for films theatrically distributed by IFC Films through 2021. The agreement includes the network's multiplex channels, Showtime On Demand and Showtime Anytime.

Included among the films heading to Showtime now are D Train and Sleeping with Other People, as well as the Golden Globe-winning and Oscar-nominated film Boyhood, which makes its TV premiere on April 25 at 8 p.m.

“IFC Films has become a major player in the independent theatrical distribution business and it is very exciting to extend our partnership with them,” said Gary Garfinkel, the senior VP of content acquisition, and Kent Sevener, the senior VP of content acquisition and business and legal affairs at Showtime Networks. “We’re thrilled to expand and further diversify the Showtime Networks theatrical portfolio for years to come with IFC Films’ rich slate.”

"We are thrilled to have our films play alongside Showtime's award-winning original programs. Their partnership approach over the last six years has been a major contributor to the size and acclaim of our slate," added Lisa Schwartz, the executive VP of distribution, operations and business development for IFC Films and Sundance Selects.
