Shameless Renewed for Season Seven

LOS ANGELES: The comedy Shameless, which premiered its sixth season on Sunday, has been renewed by Showtime for season seven.

Production on 12 new episodes will begin later this year. Shameless is produced by Bonanza Productions in association with John Wells Productions and Warner Bros. Television.

“Shameless has clearly resonated with audiences as evidenced by their steady growth on Sunday nights over the past six years,” said Gary Levine, the president of programming at Showtime Networks. “We are extremely pleased with the creative work being done by John Wells, Nancy Pimental and the entire cast, producers and writers—and we so appreciate Shameless‘ clear and distinctive voice.”
