OAKBROOK TERRACE: Having completed its beta run, Redbox Instant, which combines streaming movies and DVD rentals, is now available to the public.

The service, from Verizon, offers bundles starting at $8 per month. It offers unlimited streaming access to 4,600 titles from studios such as Warner Bros. and EPIX. Members can receive four free DVD or Blu-ray rentals per month at any of the Redbox kiosks nationwide as part of the Instant plan. It also offers customers the option to rent or buy new titles online that aren’t yet available for streaming.

"We’re excited to open the doors and invite everyone in to enjoy Redbox Instant by Verizon," said Shaw Strickland, the CEO of Redbox Instant. "Today’s movie lover enjoys watching on all kinds of devices but finding the right movie, right now can be frustrating. It doesn’t have to be this way."
