Pivot Goes for New Docuseries The Operatives, More Please Like Me

LOS ANGELES: Pivot has two new shows coming to its schedule in October, Welcome to Fairfax and Freestyle Love Supreme, in addition to greenlighting an original docuseries, The Operatives, and a third season of the Josh Thomas comedy Please Like Me.

Pivot will launch the new half-hour series Freestyle Love Supreme and Welcome to Fairfax on October 17. Freestyle Love Supreme is a comedic improv series inspired by the stage show from Lin-Manuel Miranda and Thomas Kail. Welcome to Fairfax explores the arts district of Los Angeles and the entrepreneurs who live and work there.

The network has greenlit a third season of Please Like Me, ahead of the August 8 debut of season two. The coming-of-age comedy is created, written and executive produced by comedian Josh Thomas, inspired partially by his own life. Pivot also greenlit The Operatives, an original series spotlighting an elite team of conversationalists who take on the world's eco-offenders. The 8×1-hour show is an original for Pivot; Zodiak Rights handles international distribution.

In January 2015, the network is bringing out its first original drama, Fortitude. The 12×1-hour series tells the story of a small Arctic town whose peaceful existence is upturned by a brutal and shocking murder. The show stars Stanley Tucci as a detective who's flown into Fortitude. Fortitude is a Sky/Pivot original series, with Sky Vision handling the international distribution.
