IFC has picked up Fleabag, the BAFTA-winning dark comedy series from multihyphenate Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Fleabag, adapted from Waller-Bridge’s play of the same name and starring the writer in the lead role, follows a woman trying to cope with a recent tragedy while navigating life and love. It will debut on IFC on Wednesday, December 26. The six episodes of the series will air consecutively beginning at 11:00 p.m., and encore in late night.

Fleabag is produced by Two Brothers Pictures for BBC Three in the U.K. and Amazon Prime in the U.S. in association with DryWrite, directed by Harry Bradbeer and executive produced by Harry Williams and Jack Williams of Two Brothers Pictures, Lydia Hampson and Waller-Bridge. It’s distributed by all3media international.

“Darkly witty and slyly subversive, Fleabag is unlike anything else on telly,” said Blake Callaway, executive director of IFC. “We are delighted to welcome the ‘slightly off’ vision of Phoebe Waller-Bridge to IFC.”
