Particle6 Productions has tapped Raj Kalra for the newly created role of VP of content and U.S. distribution strategy.

Overseeing the company’s expansion into the U.S. market, Kalra will lead the team’s efforts in the country to take unscripted and scripted programs in development to greenlight, distribute Particle6’s existing catalog of programs and grow the company’s educational content business. Kalra will report to Eline Van Der Velden, executive producer and founder.

Before joining the company, Kalra was director of international programming at A+E Networks, where he oversaw programming for the History, History2, Crime+Investigation and A&E channels outside of the U.S. Prior to joining A+E, Kalra spent nearly ten years at The Walt Disney Company, departing his post as director of global content distribution strategy for Marvel Television in 2016.

Van Der Velden said: “We feel really great about the successes we’ve had since launching the company, and we’re ready for this next stage of growth. Raj comes to us having worked for both Studios and Networks across many genres of content. His breadth of experience will add a lot of value to our team.”

Kalra said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Particle6, a company whose editorial vision, award-winning pedigree, eco-conscious certification and commitment to making complex stories accessible and entertaining more closely match my own values. Given the proliferation of platforms in the U.S., now is the best time to bring Particle6’s finished programs and inspired development slate to market. I’m thankful to Eline for this awesome opportunity and eager for the challenge ahead.”
