Paramount Network has ordered First Wives Club, a 10×30-minute comedy based on the 1996 movie starring Diane Keaton, Bette Midler and Goldie Hawn, from Paramount Television.

The First Wives Club TV reboot will see Tracy Oliver (Girls Trip) serve as writer and executive producer. The show will center on a group of women who come together after their marriages fall apart. Production is set to kick off in New York City this summer for a 2019 premiere on Paramount Network.

“Tracy Oliver is a brilliant writer and the perfect visionary to bring this unforgettable story from the big screen to the small screen in a fresh and contemporary way,” said Keith Cox, the president of development and production for Paramount Network, TV Land and CMT.

Girls Trip was one of the funniest comedies in recent memory and we know Tracy will breathe new life, and some serious laughs, into these beloved First Wives Club characters,” added Amy Powell, the president of Paramount TV.

Also on board as executive producers are Karen Rosenfelt, whose credits include The Twilight Saga and The Devil Wears Prada; Scott Rudin, who produced the original film; and Tony Hernandez of JAX Media.
