OWNZONES Names Product Innovation Head

OWNZONES Media Network, a global provider of technology and media solutions for the film, TV and digital content creation industries, has tapped former Netflix executive Nick Nelson as head of product innovation.

In his newly created post, Nelson will work out of Los Angeles under Aaron Sloman, the chief technology officer of OWNZONES. He will oversee the innovation of the company’s suite of products and services. He will also help evolve the consumer-facing discover experience, A/B testing framework and product data intelligence.

Nelson worked for Netflix as head of product creative from 2012 to 2016. He has also held positions at such digital rights management organizations as Cognizant Technology, Deluxe Entertainment Services and Ascent Media. In October 2016, he founded a company called Technically Creative. For the past year, he has been consulting with OTT subscription streaming service Seeso.

Sloman remarked: “We are thrilled that Nick has joined us to further develop and refine our consumer OTT interface and user experience. He’s highly regarded in the industry for his knowledge to build and roll out brilliant OTT and streaming offerings, most notably in the early days of Netflix and recently with Seeso.
