New Content for Starz App & On Demand

The Starz app and on-demand services have added a variety of new Spanish-language and children’s programming to its library, including the hit animated shows Bob the Builder and Thomas and Friends.

The app offers such kids’ titles as Care Bears: Adventures in Care-a-Lot, The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3, Eloise, The Animated Series, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Inspector Gadget, The Adventures of Paddington Bear, Sonic the Hedgehog, Sabrina, The Animated Series and Now You Know. It currently has more than 1,100 children’s series episodes and movies available for download or streaming. By the end of the year, that amount is expected to surpass 2,000 with the additions of Alf, Speed Racer: The Next Generation, Kid Diners and Zatch Bell!

The Starz app has also added nearly 300 Spanish-language movies and telenovela episodes, including Colombia’s El Cartel de los Sapos and La Promesa. Spanish-languague programming on the app is expected to reach more than 700 by year end with the additions of such movies as I’m So Excited, Chico and Rita and No, and novelas and kids’ shows, including Exploradores de la Historia and Horacio y los Plasticines.

By the end of 2017, Starz plans to grow its app/OTT/on-demand content offerings by approximately 40 percent to nearly 7,700 total selections, including more than 60 kids’ titles, such as The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss, The Cat in the Hat television specials, Jim Henson’s The Storyteller, Naruto and Garfield and Friends.
