Ovation Greenlights New Series, Renews Two Shows

SANTA MONICA: Ovation is moving forward on the original series Young Marvels, and is giving second seasons to A Young Doctor's Notebook and The Fashion Fund.

Young Marvels is slated for a summer launch with 12 half-hour episodes. The docuseries profiles some of America's most talented young prodigies as they pursue their respective areas in the arts. The show is produced by Tremendous! Entertainment for Ovation.

The network is bringing back A Young Doctor's Notebook, starring Jon Hamm and Daniel Radcliffe, for a second season. A Young Doctor's Notebook and Other Stories, scheduled for a summer launch, is produced by Big Talk Productions in association with Points West Pictures (Hamm's production company).

Also returning to Ovation is The Fashion Fund, featuring Anna Wintour, Diane von Furstenberg, J. Crew’s Jenna Lyons, and a new team of designers competing for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Designer of the Year title and prize. The second season of The Fashion Fund kicks off in the fall.

“Our programming department is firing on all cylinders and we’ve got one of the most-exciting slates to date,” said Scott Woodward, Ovation’s senior VP of programming and production. “We are particularly proud of these three series, as they really exemplify the kind of quality and focus we are looking for in the content we feature. While vastly different in terms of style and story, all of these share a commitment to the arts—whether it’s the inspirational work of gifted young musicians and dancers, the passion of a talented fashion designer, or the artful adaptation of a classic literary work. We continue to present a wide variety of cutting edge artistic pursuits. And these are just a few of the series in the pipeline, with many, many more to come.”
