New Programming Lands on Qubo, ION Life

ION Media has acquired new programming for its special-interest digital kids’ network Qubo and lifestyle channel ION Life.

As of today, Qubo will premiere Giver and Pet Alien. The former is a live-action show from Sinking Ship Entertainment that follows a group of kids as they help build and improve local playgrounds, while the latter is an animated series from Splash Entertainment about a young boy who encounters wild and outrageous aliens that take refuge in his lighthouse.

ION Television’s programming block Qubo Kids Corner will replace its current lineup with new shows from Qubo’s library. Zoo Clues premieres this Wednesday, followed by Warren Buffett’s Secret Millionaires Club on Thursday and Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab on Friday. The hour-long block broadcasts Wednesday through Friday beginning at 8 a.m.

ION Life will debut P. Allen Smith’s Garden to Table and Search & Restore on July 17. P. Allen Smith’s Garden to Table (Legacy Distribution) sees the titular expert offer tips on combining gardening and dining, while Search & Restore (Raycom Media) spotlights volunteers who help refurbish rides around the U.S.

“ION remains focused on providing viewers with fun, educational children’s entertainment that promotes good values and stands by its strict advertising guidelines, as well as programming that encourages audiences to live healthier, more empowered lifestyles,” said Brandon Burgess, the chairman and CEO of ION Media.
