LOS ANGELES: Joe Earley has been elevated to chief operating officer at Fox Broadcasting Company (FOX), reporting to Kevin Reilly, who last week was upped to chairman of entertainment.

Earley will be instrumental in the management of all areas of the network, including scripted programming, casting, scheduling, digital and business affairs. He continues oversight of marketing and communications as well. Earley has been serving as the president of marketing and communications for the network. He joined the company in 1994 as a senior publicist. Mike Darnell, the president of alternative entertainment, reports directly to Reilly.

“Joe is not only an inspired and creative marketing strategist, but he should own the patent on the concept of ‘team builder,’” said Reilly. “He is a dynamic leader who inspires partnership and a sense of collective purpose across our entire company, and that’s why I am privileged to have Joe at my side guiding FOX as our COO.”

“I am incredibly grateful for this amazing opportunity, which Kevin and Peter have given me,” commented Earley. “Having been at FOX for almost two decades, it’s been a privilege to work alongside the most creative, innovative and driven executives in the business; and I’m excited about where we—collectively—are taking the network.”
