NEW YORK: Seeso, a new ad-free streaming comedy channel from NBCUniversal Digital Enterprises, is set to roll out on January 7.

Seeso will be available on a dedicated website and iOS and Android platforms, with others expected to be added in the coming months. Subscribers will have access to more than 2,000 hours of original titles, with new content rolling out daily. At launch, the channel will feature exclusive original series such as The UCB Show, from hosts, creators and Upright Citizens Brigade founders Matt Besser, Amy Poehler, Ian Roberts and Matt Walsh; Dave and Ethan: Lovemakers, from Broadway Video’s Above Average Productions; Sammy J & Randy in Ricketts Lane, a musical comedy about mismatched housemates; Before the Morning After, featuring top comedians who are drunk in a diner at 2 a.m. at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival; and the animated sketch series The Cyanide & Happiness Show. The first episodes of all five shows are currently available as part of Seeso’s free beta trial. New episodes will be added every week, starting January 7, with fresh programs set to join the lineup throughout the year.

In addition, subscribers will have access to Seeso’s library of stand-up comedy, including the first-ever OTT live stand-up special The Guest List: Live from the Barrel House, which aired in beta earlier this month. The library also encompasses classic comedy content, including series such as Saved By the Bell, 30 Rock and Parks and Recreation.

“We think the world needs more laughter, so we put together what we think is the best collection of comedy in one place,” said Evan Shapiro, the executive VP of NBCUniversal Digital Enterprises. “Come, ‘Seeso’ for yourself.”
