NBCUniversal Cable Names New Senior Execs

UNIVERSAL CITY: NBCUniversal Cable has appointed several new senior executives for Universal Cable Productions and NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment.

Richard Rothstein was upped to executive VP of current programming at Universal Cable Productions. The exec supervises a slate of shows including the long-running USA Network titles Suits, Royal Pains and Covert Affairs, as well as the new dramas Satisfaction and DIG. He also oversees the Syfy original series Dominion and 12 Monkeys, along with Bravo’s first scripted series Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce.

Additionally, Randi Richmond has been promoted to senior VP of production at Universal Cable Productions. She oversees the day-to-day production aspects of scripted series airing on USA, Syfy and third-party networks. Richmond also supervises multiple productions, many of them shooting internationally.

At NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, Steven O’Neill is now the executive VP of casting. He is currently responsible for overseeing the casting for all scripted series and pilots for the networks in the NBCU Cable portfolio (USA, Syfy, Bravo, Oxygen, E! Entertainment, Esquire Network), as well as the studio’s pilots and series. Meanwhile, Carter Batsell was elevated to VP of business affairs for NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, where he handles negotiations for scripted and unscripted, production and development agreements.
