NBC, Shaw Partner on Comedy

UNIVERSAL CITY: NBC has signed up to co-produce Working the Engels, a single-camera comedy from Halfire-CORE Entertainment and Shaw Media.

Halfire-CORE Entertainment is a joint venture between Halfire Entertainment, founded by former eOne exec Noreen Halpern, and CORE Media Group, headed by ex-NBC exec Marc Graboff. The series stars Andrea Martin as the matriarch of a family forced to run a storefront law firm after her husband, the breadwinner, passes away. The cast also includes Kacey Rohl, Azura Skye and Benjamin Arthur. It is created and written by Katie Ford and Jane Ford.

"Katie and Jane Ford have created a laugh-out-loud show and we're delighted to have a comedic legend in Andrea Martin, complemented by a trio of rising stars."
