ATLANTA: TBS has renewed the series Search Party and People of Earth, ordering additional seasons of all six of its 2016 original scripted comedies.

Both Search Party and People of Earth will return to TBS for ten-episode sophomore seasons. The second season of Search Party is slated for summer, while People of Earth will return later in the year. The series join Angie Tribeca, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, The Detour and Wrecked on TBS’s renewal roster.

Search Party launched with the entire first season over Thanksgiving week, drawing more than 1.1 million viewers per episode across all platforms over five days and growing. The show performed well among millennials, with 18 percent of its audience in the adults 18 to 34 demographic. On VOD, Search Party reached 1 million views faster than any other TBS original.

People of Earth premiered on Halloween night and is currently reaching 4.3 million viewers per episode across all platforms. The show airs Mondays at 9 p.m. and comes from Conan O’Brien and Greg Daniels, along with creator David Jenkins.

“Twelve months ago we set out to reimagine the TBS brand and its place in the TV landscape,” said Brett Weitz, the executive VP of original programming for TBS. “To end 2016 with all six shows returning is humbling. The amazing teams behind People of Earth and Search Party have created complex, funny characters and crafted truly distinctive stories. Renewing both shows is the perfect end to a transformative year for TBS.”
