Monty Sarhan Rejoins EPIX, Keary Hanan Promoted

NEW YORK: EPIX has promoted Keary Hanan to senior VP of digital programming and production and hired Monty Sarhan as executive VP of programming, acquisitions, strategy and enterprises.

Hanan has been elevated from the post of VP and executive managing director. She will be tasked with guiding the overall digital strategy while also overseeing implementation and day-to-day operations. She will also serve as the lead in building an active online community for the network through social platforms. Hanan is based in New York City and will continue to report to Emil Rensing, chief digital officer.

Sarhan will lead EPIX’s program development, scheduling and acquisition teams and oversee the network’s overall programming strategy as well as its relationships with partner studios and key suppliers. Sarhan will be based in New York and report to Mark Greenberg, EPIX’s president and CEO. Sarhan was part of the original team that launched EPIX in 2009. Sarhan previously served as the network’s senior VP of business and legal affairs. He rejoins EPIX after serving as general counsel and senior VP of WWE.

“We’re excited to announce Keary’s promotion and highlight her contributions in making EPIX stand apart from the rest,” said Rensing. “Keary is a huge asset to the digital team and to the network as a whole. She challenges everyone around her to continue pushing the limits of capability on new platforms and always brings fresh thinking to the table when it comes to initiating and developing relationships with our subscribers.”

“Monty was an integral part of EPIX’s early success and I couldn’t be more excited to be welcoming him back to the EPIX family,” said Greenberg. “His innovative thinking, ability to forge valuable partnerships and inherent leadership skills make him a natural fit for this role and we look forward to his contributions.”
