Masterchef On FOX Renewed

BURBANK: FOX has given a fourth-season renewal to Masterchef, the format-based cooking competition executive produced by Gordon Ramsay.

The renewal comes on the heels of strong ratings gains in season three, which is up by 9 percent this summer in total viewers. In the show, home cooks face off in a series of challenges as they vie for a grand prize and the title of Masterchef.

"I am continually amazed by the raw talent, passion and creativity of home cooks across America," commented Ramsay, executive producer and judge on the show. "The contestants raise the bar every season, and it’s an inspiration and exciting challenge for us."

Mike Darnell, the president of alternative entertainment at Fox Broadcasting Company, added, "Gordon and the producers really took Masterchef to a whole new level this year. The talent is absolutely fantastic, the competition is unbelievably intense, and it’s become one of the most compelling, heart-stopping hours on television. Over the course of three seasons, Masterchef has inspired millions of home cooks around the country to pursue their dreams in the kitchen, and I can’t wait for the show to inspire even more people with another season on FOX."

Shine America and One Potato Two Potato—the venture launched by Ramsay and Optomen Television—produce the U.S. version of the format created by Franc Roddam and Shine. Shine International represents the format globally.
