LOS ANGELES: MarVista Entertainment, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, has appointed Winny Poon as VP and controller, Hannah Pillemer as creative executive and Tony Vassiliadis as director of strategic programs.

In her new role, Poon will be charged with managing the company’s financial plans and policies, accounting practices, fiscal records and the preparation of financial reports. She will work under Susan J. Young, MarVista’s CFO. In the past, Poon was employed by Warner Bros. Entertainment as a project specialist for the studio’s finance and H.R. groups.

Reporting to VP of production and development Sharon Bordas, Pillemer will be responsible for supervising projects from early development through final delivery in the film and TV market. She previously served as a development staffer at HBO Films.

As director of strategic programs, Vassiliadis will be expected to launch and implement strategic initiatives that enhance the company’s operations and profitability. Prior to his appointment at MarVista, he worked for Deloitte Consulting’s strategy and operations division.

"From the moment we launched MarVista, we had a plan that recognized the need for market-driven feedback directly from our buyers," said Fernando Szew, the CEO of MarVista. "Our commitment to producing and acquiring content based on market demands has been, and continues to distinguish our company. It’s a winning game plan for us, our production partners, our program buyers and ultimately the audience."
