Mark Pedowitz Upped to Chairman & CEO at The CW

Mark Pedowitz has been promoted to chairman and CEO of The CW Network, overseeing all creative and business aspects of the channel.

Pedowitz joined The CW, a joint venture between Warner Bros. Entertainment and ViacomCBS, as president in 2011. During his tenure with the company, he has spearheaded building and broadening the network’s audience, bolstering its prime-time schedule with more original programming and setting an innovative digital and social strategy. In November, Pedowitz was honored as a Giant of Broadcasting by The Library of American Broadcasting Foundation. He was inducted into the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame in October 2016.

Before joining The CW, Pedowitz helmed the independent production banner Pine Street Entertainment. Prior to joining ABC Studios, Pedowitz served as executive VP of ABC Entertainment Television Group; he joined ABC in 1991 as senior VP of business affairs and contracts. He’s also previously held roles at MGM/UA Television Production Group, The Landsburg Company and Reeves Entertainment.
