SANTA MONICA: Ovation TV has elevated Lori Hall to VP of program planning, scheduling and acquisitions.

In her new position, Hall adds program acquisitions to her responsibilities. She will continue to work under Scott Woodward, Ovation TV's executive VP of programming and productions. Hall plans to attend this year's MIPCOM, where she will search for U.S. premiere scripted and unscripted series, movies and docs.

Hall has led program scheduling for Ovation TV since she joined the network in 2011. Two years later she was promoted to VP of program scheduling. She is credited with creating branded "destination nights," which include the Morning Canvas and Ovation Spotlights blocks that feature performing arts and arts documentaries.

"Lori is an invaluable member of our programming team and has been responsible for helping the network achieve significant ratings increases year over year," said Woodward. "During her tenure with the company, she has developed a keen sense of what our viewers want, so expanding her remit to include acquisitions was a natural progression for her and the network."

"I'm very excited to be taking on Ovation's acquisition responsibilities at this time in its evolution," added Hall. "The network is truly becoming a multiplatform media company and licensing content for those platforms is a big priority for us. I'm looking forward to attending markets like MIPCOM where I have the opportunity to talk with content creators and distributors of all sizes who may have properties available to suit our brand, as well as our linear and digital needs."
