LOS ANGELES: Lauren Ruggiero has been elevated to VP of scripted original series at Spike TV.

In her new role, Ruggiero will continue to expand Spike TV’s development slate and co-manage scripted series production, including the upcoming book-based drama The Mist. She will continue to work under Ted Gold, the senior VP of scripted original series.

Ruggiero first collaborated with Spike as a co-producer on the limited event series Tut while working for Elice Island Entertainment. Since joining the channel, she has been involved in the various stages of development for all scripted projects, including those developed in-house. Ruggiero has also served as a coordinator of original programming at AMC, where she contributed to such hits as Mad Men, Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead. She first began her entertainment career in William Morris Agency’s TV literary department.

“Lauren has excellent creative instincts and is a terrific asset to our team,” said Gold. “She’s been instrumental in developing our ever-growing slate of scripted dramas and will continue to work tirelessly towards Spike’s mission to deliver bold and original series.”
