Jason Katims Inks Overall Deal with Apple

Apple has signed creator/showrunner Jason Katims (Friday Night Lights, Parenthood) and his True Jack Productions company to an exclusive, overall production and development deal.

Katims is to join Apple this summer, following his long-standing overall deal with Universal. He will remain actively involved in the projects he currently has set up through Universal, including the previously announced Away and Sisters.

Katims was executive producer and showrunner of the critically acclaimed drama Friday Night Lights. He most recently created and served as showrunner on the NBC drama Rise, along with executive producing The Path, which aired its third and final season on Hulu last year.
