Hulu Names Head of Originals

LOS ANGELES: Beatrice Springborn, previously the head of television at Storyline Entertainment, has joined Hulu as the head of originals.

At Storyline, Springborn developed and produced the MTV series Happyland. Prior to this, she was senior VP at Caryn Mandabach Productions, where she oversaw the development of genre and book-based series for the international market. She was also previously the executive VP of TV and film production and development at Gale Anne Hurd's Valhalla Motion Pictures.

Springborn joins Hulu at a time when it is focusing on investment in original programming. "We’re seeing great success on the originals front, and are excited to have Beatrice on board to continue to drive the business forward and carry on the Hulu culture," said Craig Erwich, the senior VP and head of content at Hulu.
