In the wake of the announcement about Sheila Nevins’ upcoming departure, HBO has appointed Nancy Abraham and Lisa Heller as executive VPs of HBO documentary and family programming.

This news comes on the heels of yesterday’s announcement that Sheila Nevins, HBO’s longtime president of HBO documentary and family programming, will be departing the channel in early 2018.

Abraham and Heller both currently serve as senior VPs of HBO documentary and family programming. They are charged with the development, production and acquisition of HBO docs and family series. Abraham and Heller first joined HBO’s documentary division in 1995 and 2000, respectively.

“With Nancy and Lisa leading a stellar team, there will be a continued commitment to the excellence that was a hallmark of Sheila’s tenure,” noted Casey Bloys, the president of HBO programming. “Our viewers can look forward to a compelling slate of programming.”
