LOS ANGELES: HBO has given an 18-episode straight-to-series order to the comedy Vice Principals, which comes from Eastbound & Down creators Danny McBride and Jody Hill.

The series will focus on a high school and the people who sort of run it, the vice principals. McBride will star and executive producer. He is joined by David Gordon Green and Stephanie Laing, who all exec produced Eastbound & Down.

Eastbound ended its four-season run on HBO last year.

"Danny McBride and Jody Hill have created a smart, rowdy and unpredictable style of comedy that we can’t get enough of,” said Michael Lombardo, HBO programming president . “The idea of them setting their minds on high school was irresistible."
