Game of Thrones, Veep, Olive Kitteridge Win Big at Emmys

LOS ANGELES: HBO had a big night at the 67th Emmy Awards, scoring 14 wins, with a slew of honors for Game of Thrones, Veep and Olive Kitteridge.

Game of Thrones was honored as outstanding drama, while Veep won for outstanding comedy. In the performance categories, Jon Hamm won for his lead role in Mad Men, with Viola Davis winning on the female-performance side for How to Get Away with Murder. For comedy, Transparent's Jeffrey Tambor won for male lead, and Veep's Julia Louis-Dreyfus for female lead. Supporting nods for drama went to Game of Thrones' Peter Dinklage and Uzo Aduba of Orange Is the New Black, while for comedy the winners were Mom's Allison Janney and Veep's Tony Hale.

Olive Kitteridge won for outstanding miniseries, and HBO's Bessie for outstanding TV movie. Olive Kitteridge's Richard Jenkins was awarded the Emmy for lead actor in a miniseries or movie, and Frances McDormand also won for Olive Kitteridge, for lead actress. Supporting wins in the miniseries/movie category went to Bill Murray for Olive Kitteridge and Regina King for American Crime.

The Daily Show picked up a number of wins, including outstanding variety talk series, writing and directing. Inside Amy Schumer won its first Emmy, for variety sketch series. The Voice was recognized for outstanding reality-competition program.
