FX Goes for Another Season of Baskets

LOS ANGELES: FX has renewed Baskets, a comedy series starring Zach Galifianakis, for a second season that is due to debut early next year.

FX Productions’s Baskets centers on a man who is struggling to fulfill his dream of being a successful French clown. The show was co-created by executive producers Jonathan Krisel (Portlandia), Louis C.K. (Louie) and Galifianakis (Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis). Its debut was the most-watched basic cable prime-time comedy series premiere since 2014.

Baskets is bold, brilliant and incredibly funny and we could not be happier with the reception it’s received in its breakout first season,” said Eric Schrier, president of original programming for FX Networks and FX Productions. “Baskets brings together three of the most innovative comedic minds working today—Zach, Louis and Jonathan—and we thank them, the rest of the creative team and the entire cast for everything they’ve done for the series.”
