Freeform Taps Content Planning & Strategy Head

BURBANK: Freeform has appointed Sarah Tomassi Lindman as its senior VP of content planning and strategy, reporting to Tom Ascheim, the channel’s president.

In her new role, Lindman will manage the deployment of original and acquired programming, library series and tentpole events, including 13 Nights of Halloween and 25 Days of Christmas, across Freeform and its digital footprint. She will also be responsible for the network’s acquisition strategy and acquiring content that enhances the Freeform brand.

Lindman previously founded Refractant Media Consulting. Before that, she served as senior VP of program strategy for Oxygen and executive VP of program strategy at MTV. Earlier, Lindman worked for Viacom Media Networks’ The N and Noggin. She started her career at Warner Bros. and was a member of the team that launched Kids’ WB during the 1990s.

Ascheim remarked: “Sarah is a smart, strategic executive who has never lost her love for watching TV. She brings us great wisdom both about the audience and how to nurture a hit on all the platforms on which our audience spends time.”
