Downton Abbey, Modern Family Top SAG Award Honors

LOS ANGELES: At last night’s 19th annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, Downton Abbey won for best drama ensemble, while Modern Family won for ensemble performance in a comedy.

Kevin Costner won for best actor in a movie or mini-series for Hatfields & McCoys. Julianne Moore won in the same movie or mini-series category for her performance in Game Change. Breaking Bad‘s Bryan Cranston took the win for best actor in drama, with Homeland‘s Claire Danes winning as best actress. For comedy, 30 Rock swept the category with performance wins for Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey. Game of Thrones was awarded as best stung ensemble.

For motion pictures, Daniel Day-Lewis won for Lincoln and Jennifer Lawrence for Silver Linings Playbook. The supporting nods went to Tommy Lee Jones for Lincoln and Anne Hathaway for Les Misérables. Outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture went to Argo. Skyfall won for stunt ensemble.

Dick Van Dyke was presented with the union’s highest honor, the 49th Annual Life Achievement Award.
