Comedy Central Reveals CC: Studios Development Slate

NEW YORK: Comedy Central has greenlit a half dozen titles for its CC: Studios development slate, including Strong Island, created by and starring Jon Gabrus and Justin Tyler.

Strong Island centers on two brothers who live at home with their mother in Long Island. The show, which also stars Artemis Pebdani (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and Kevin "Dot Com" Brown (30 Rock), is part of a multiplatform agreement with Comedy Central.

Other series that were given the go-ahead include Biatches, a tentatively titled animated program about a group of bad girls who were kicked out of middle school; Idiotsitter, which follows a young woman charged with looking after a wealthy "womanchild" under house arrest; The Midnight Beast, about a hip-hop comedy trio; Pixelheads, an animated sketch show focused on video games; and Untitled Kurt Braunohler, a multi-format interview series.

Comedy Central has also picked up second seasons of Bro-Dependent, This is Not Happening and The Walsh Brothers' Great & Secret Comedy Show.

Allison Kingsley, the VP of digital development at Comedy Central, noted: "This slate represents an evolution of Comedy Central's development process; collaborating across departments as we work with an incredible roster of talented comedians to create shareable content."
