Comedy Central Greenlights Two Series, Renews Three

NEW YORK: Comedy Central has given series orders to Another Period and Idiotsitter, along with renewing Inside Amy Schumer, Review and TripTank.

Another Period is set at the turn of the century. It follows the misadventures of a family from Newport, Rhode Island, who have nothing to offer the world but have loads of money. Idiotsitter was created by Charlotte Newhouse and Jillian Bell (Workaholics). It follows a young woman (Newhouse) who is hired to work as a babysitter for an ultra-rich woman-child (Bell) who is under house arrest. Idiotsitter is the second digital series produced by CC:Studios to transition to the linear network.

Inside Amy Schumer was renewed for a third season, while Review and TripTank are both getting second seasons.

A number of digital series have also been ordered for CC:Studios to produce. This includes 6 Guys 1 Car, written by and starring the Dormtainment comedy troupe; 300 Sunnyside, about six roommates worried about their stagnant existence; New Timers, written by, directed by and starring the comedy duo Good Cop Great Cop (Matt Porter and Charlie Hankin); and Pie Guys, which stars Jon Barinholtz, who also wrote the show. Also moving forward are Roustabout with Kurt Braunohler and Team Tiger Awesome.

“There are two significant things that unite this disparate slate of shows: 1. They are all super funny, and 2. We hope our fans agree,” said Kent Alterman, the president of content development and original programming at Comedy Central.
