RLJ Entertainment Hires New EVP of Content Sales

LOS ANGELES: Indie outfit RLJ Entertainment has named Mike Pears as its executive VP of content sales for the U.S., a newly created position.

Pears will be based out of the company's West Coast office in California. He’ll head up sales for RLJE’s non-physical wholesale business, including digital, VOD and TV. Before joining the company, the exec oversaw digital/VOD distribution at Cinedigm Entertainment (previously Gaiam-Vivendi Entertainment and Universal Music Group). He’s also held executive positions at various other companies, including the Recording Industry Association of America.

He will be leading all non-physical distribution channels in North America and working closely with the RLJE global businesses to help ensure an integrated, fully maximized exploitation strategy.”
