LOS ANGELES: Julie McNamara has been tapped to fill the newly created post of executive VP of original content at CBS All Access, CBS’s SVOD and live-streaming service.

The platform has expanded its original programming with the commissions of an all-new Star Trek for January 2017 and a spin-off of The Good Wife for spring of next year. McNamara has led drama development at CBS Television Studios for a decade. She was previously a drama development VP at ABC.

McNamara reports to David Stapf, president of CBS Television Studios, and Marc DeBevoise, executive VP and general manager of CBS Digital Media at CBS Interactive. Stapf commented, “Julie has been one of the industry’s pre-eminent drama development executives for more than a decade. Her taste, business savvy and deep relationships with the creative community will serve her and CBS All Access well as we move forward with more marquee premium content for subscribers. As a studio, we’re very excited to expand into this space, and even more excited to do so with a dedicated executive of Julie’s caliber.”
