Cablevision Debuts ‘Cord Cutter’ Packages

BETHPAGE: Cablevision Systems Corporation has unveiled a new internet-focused Optimum product targeting the ‘cord cutter’ and ‘cord never’ generation of consumers.

Cablevision is offering customers the ability to self-select the broadband products that they want to receive over-the-air broadcast TV through a digital antenna. The 'cord cutter' package provides access to high-speed broadband to facilitate OTT, a digital antenna and the option to add the new digital streaming service HBO NOW. The 'everyday low price' package features basic internet service, Freewheel phone and a digital antenna. Neither of these packages include Optimum TV service. Instead, the digital antenna that Cablevision will provide will receive over-the-air broadcast channels.

“As a connectivity company, Cablevision is reimagining its relationship with its customers,” said Kristin Dolan, the chief operating officer of Cablevision. “Our new ‘cord cutter’ packages take a modern approach to traditional triple-product bundles and provide real alternatives that fit new consumer lifestyles.”
