Bravo Plans Scripted Projects

NEW YORK: Bravo Media has made its first scripted pilot orders, greenlighting The Joneses and Rita.

The Joneses is produced by ABC Studios. It comes from Life Unexpected creator Liz Tigelaar and is a remake of the 2009 indie drama of the same name, which starred Demi Moore and David Duchovny.

From Fox Television Studios comes Rita, an adaptation of the Danish format of the same name. It is written and executive produced by Krista Vernoff (Shameless, Grey’s Anatomy).

Bravo has scheduled its first original scripted series for the fourth quarter of 2013.

“These pilots give us an opportunity to explore worlds and characters that are distinct from our unscripted programming,” said Andrew Wang, the VP of scripted development and production at Bravo. “Yet, both projects feature the memorable story lines and strong, unique characters that our Bravo audience craves.”
