LOS ANGELES: Jon Taffer, the host of the long-running show Bar Rescue, has entered into a first-look agreement with Spike to develop content particularly geared toward fans of his show.

“Spike TV has been extremely supportive since day one and I couldn’t imagine signing this deal with any other network,” said Taffer. “Together we have grown Bar Rescue into a household name and programming staple. I look forward to continuing our work in creating original content that builds on our tremendous success to date.”

“We are incredibly thrilled to expand our successful partnership with Jon,” said Sharon Levy, Spike’s executive VP of original series. “Throughout four seasons of Bar Rescue, America has witnessed Jon Taffer transform small businesses with his innovative techniques and big ideas. We can’t wait to see what else Jon has to say on Spike. This is just the beginning.”

Bar Rescue premiered in 2011 and is currently in its fourth season. The series, which sees Taffer help failing bars across the country become profitable businesses, returns to Spike TV with all new episodes on October 4 at 10 p.m.
