ENGLEWOOD: AMC has returned to DISH as the result of a new $700 million settlement, with Sundance Channel, WE tv and IFC returning as of November 1.

The multi-year pact also sees the music-oriented channel Fuse joining the DISH lineup as of November 1. The terms of the pact see DISH paying $700 million in cash as a settlement; $80 million of which is in consideration for the purchase of Cablevision’s multichannel video distribution and data service (MVDDS) spectrum. DISH will then receive 500 MHz of wireless MVDDS licenses that cover a population of 150 million across 45 metropolitan areas.

"We are glad to have settled the case and reestablished our long-term relationships with AMC Networks and Cablevision," said Dave Shull, the senior VP of programming at DISH. "This multi-year deal delivers a fair value for both parties and includes digital expansion opportunities for AMC Networks’ programming."

Josh Sapan, the president and CEO of AMC Networks, commented, “We are glad to partner again with DISH Network and are delighted to bring back our popular channels and programming to their customers.”
