Acorn TV Presents December U.S. Premieres

SILVER SPRING: North American streaming service Acorn TV has picked up five new titles, all set to premiere next month.

The second season of New Zealand’s The Brokenwood Mysteries and the first season of the tech show Gadget Man are due out December 7. The three-part miniseries The Trials of Jimmy Rose will debut December 14, along with the sophomore run of Gadget Man. December 21 will see the third-season premiere of Australian period drama A Place to Call Home, plus the third season of Gadget Man. Finally, the second season of BBC’s Prisoners Wives and the fourth installment of Gadget Man will stream starting December 28. All of those series will make their U.S. premieres on the digital hub.

Acorn TV is also adding several other programs in December, including Nigella Lawson’s Christmas shows (December 7), James Purefoy’s Injustice (December 14), Billy Connolly’s Route 66 (December 21) and Harry & Paul’s History of the 2s (December 28). For its “Friday Feature,” Acorn TV will add A for Acid (December 4), Evelyn Waugh’s Scoop (December 11), Hunting Venus (December 18) and That Day We Sang (December 25).
