ABC Picks Up Lake Bell, Dax Shepard Comedy Series

A new single-camera comedy series starring Lake Bell and Dax Shepard has been picked up to series by ABC Television Network.

Titled Bless This Mess, the series will show a newlywed couple (Bell, Shepard) facing the unexpected after deciding to leave city life for a fresh start in Nebraska. It is slated to premiere next year on ABC.

Bell and Elizabeth Meriwether (Single Parents, New Girl) are executive producers and co-creators of Bless This Mess, which is a co-production from 20th Century Fox Television and ABC Studios. Bell also directed the pilot. Jake Kasdan and Melvin Mar (Fresh Off the Boat, Speechless) are non-writing executive producers along with Shepard and Katherine Pope.

“Bell and Shepard headline a stellar cast in this hilarious take on a classic fish-out-of-water story that we found irresistible,” said Karey Burke, president of ABC Entertainment.
