ABC Family Working on Three New Comedies

BURBANK: ABC Family is producing three new comedy pilots, including one starring Tori Spelling.

Spelling stars in Mystery Girls, about a former starlet who gets into the business of solving crimes with her former mystery TV show co-star. Work Mom is a half-hour workplace comedy following Heather, who gets promoted at her digital marketing firm and winds up hiring her recently unemployed mother. In Young & Hungry, Nick, a well-off young tech entrepreneur hires Gabi, a feisty young food blogger, to be his personal chef.

“We have seen great success with our comedy series and look to grow our comedy offerings. These pilots offer a great mix of humor and iconic characters,” said Kate Juergens, the executive VP of original programming and development and chief creative officer at ABC Family.
