ABC Family Moves Forward on First Procedural Drama

BURBANK: ABC Family has picked up its first procedural drama, Stitchers, alongside ordering a second season of the comedy Young & Hungry.

Stitchers is written by Jeffrey A. Schechter (Overruled!). It follows a young woman recruited into a covert government agency to be "stitched" into the minds of the recently deceased using their memories to investigate murders and decipher mysteries.

Young & Hungry is an original comedy about a young entrepreneur who hires a feisty personal chef. The series, inspired by a San Francisco-based food blogger, is produced by David Holden, Ashley Tisdale, Jessica Rhoades, Caryn Lucas and Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannenbaum in association with CBS Television Studios.

"Stitchers is new ground for us and I’m excited to bring procedurals to the network,” said Tom Ascheim, the president of ABC Family. “We think our fans will love the intricate mysteries that Stitchers will solve week to week as much as they love our relationship-driven dramas. We are also going back for seconds of our new comedy, Young & Hungry. Good food, good laughs—of course we want more.”
