NEW YORK: NorthSouth Productions (Impractical Jokers) has named Dane Reiley, who joins the company from MTV, as its VP of comedy development and production.

In his new role, Reiley will oversee NorthSouth’s comedy division in the New York office. He will be responsible for developing and producing unscripted, comedy-driven formats and docuseries for broadcast and cable networks, as well as digital outlets, in the U.S. and U.K. He will work alongside Lisa Kleinman, the senior director of development, as well as with Jake Poteat, the senior manager of development. Reiley will report directly to founder and CEO Charlie DeBevoise.

Reiley most recently served as the senior director of development and production at MTV and MTV2. In that position, he developed both unscripted and scripted series, as well as live events. His credits include Middle of the Night Show and MTV’s New Year’s Eve live special. Prior to MTV, Reiley worked with Billy Eichner as co-executive producer of Billy on the Street, a series he developed for Funny or Die. Reiley’s other credits include The Eric Andre Show (Adult Swim), Reggie Watts’ inaugural stand-up special Why Sh*t so Crazy? (Comedy Central), John Mulaney’s New in Town (Comedy Central) and Bo Burnham’s words, words, words (Comedy Central), among others. He has also worked with and developed for talent such as Will Ferrell, Hannibal Buress and Chris Rock.

“Dane is one of the best comedy creators in the business—he has a stellar reputation, amazing energy and a keen eye for talent,” said DeBevoise. “Our slate is diverse across all genres, however; we’ve had great success with The Tenderloins and Impractical Jokers, which was our first foray into comedy. NorthSouth should be the go-to comedy producer for other great talent and Dane provides the creative muscle to get us to that goal.”

“NorthSouth’s team is comprised of some of the most creative, innovative people I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with over the years, and their talent-centric approach to development aligns perfectly with the ‘inside out’ philosophy I’ve subscribed to my entire career,” added Reiley.
