LOS ANGELES: The movie Bad Night, which stars YouTube celebrities Lauren Elizabeth and Jennifer McAllister (a.k.a. JennXPenn), is GRB Entertainment’s first scripted feature and part of a growing catalogue of titles led by online talent.

The company also recently secured distribution rights for Camp Takota, starring digital influencers Grace Helbig, Hannah Hart and Mamrie Hart as a group trying to save their old camp. “The international market is going to be able to take advantage of the built-in audiences, as each of the stars in these films has millions of online followers,” says Gary R. Benz, GRB Entertainment’s president and CEO.

On the scripted-series front, GRB is showcasing the 13×30-minute comedy Mohawk Girls, which follows four twentysomething Native Americans trying to find love and their place in the world. Benz says that Mohawk Girls “taps into the ever-popular ‘young girls looking for love’ genre, but in a completely new environment: their background is Native American Indian and the series takes place around their reserve [Kahnawake]. This modern-day series breaks new ground and taps into the networks’ constant search for something new and fresh, and it is really funny.”
