LONDON: Syfy in the U.S. is set to air the street magic series Close Up Kings, thanks to a deal brokered by Entertainment One.

The 8×1-hour series is co-produced by Zig Zag Productions and Yap Films. The show features three best friends from New York City who are all sleight-of-hand artists. The trio travels around the U.S. taking on different challenges and attempting to outperform each other.

Zig Zag Productions' CEO, Danny Fenton, said: “Magic programming is very much en vogue and we believe the key to creating internationally successful shows in this genre is to constantly try to reinvent what a magic show should be. Close Up Kings is unique in that the series is as much about three buddies having fun on the road as the incredible close up illusions they create on their journey.”

Yap Films' executive producer and director of development, Elizabeth Trojian, added: “Close Up Kings is an amazing series that combines magic, marvel and some good old-fashioned competition. There’s just something fun about watching three buddies traveling the country trying outperform each other to impress everyone from girls in bars to huge crowds!”
