NBC Creates Two Apps for Olympics Coverage

SOCHI: As part of its coverage of the Sochi Winter Olympics, NBC Sports Digital is providing two new applications that deliver live streaming content and up-to-the-minute news.

NBC Sports Live Extra will live stream more than 1,000 hours to verified cable, satellite and telco customers. This includes all sports, all competitions and all medal events. The second app, NBC Olympics Highlights and Results, will serve as the hub for up-to-date TV and online streaming schedules, live results, athlete profiles and replays of memorable moments. In addition, through the Primetime Companion section, the app will serve as the signature second-screen tool for NBC’s nightly prime-time coverage.
