ONE World Sports Names New EVP of Distribution

NEW YORK: The global sports network ONE World Sports has added industry veteran Randy Brown to its team, naming him executive VP of distribution.

He will be based in Los Angeles and New York and will report to company president and CEO Alexander “Sandy” Brown (no relation). The executive, whose appointment takes effect immediately, will be in charge of supervising and expanding all of ONE World Sports’ distribution operations.

“Randy is just the person to help take ONE World Sports to the next level in the network’s expanded U.S. distribution among MVPDs seeking to leverage the burgeoning interest in global sports, especially among the hard-to-reach millennials,” CEO Brown said. “He is one of the most respected TV distribution executives in the industry, and we couldn’t be more delighted to welcome him to the executive roster of our global sports network.”

Randy Brown most recently led Outdoor Channel’s affiliate sales and marketing team, where he grew the network’s subscribers by 12.3 million. He’s also worked as head of distribution for the Tennis Channel and spent 14 years in affiliate sales at ESPN.

“ONE World Sports taps into what competitive MVPDs highly desire—exclusive sports programming that appeals to younger, globally minded viewers,” Randy Brown said. “I’m thrilled to hit the ground running and be part of the ONE World Sports team.”

ONE World Sports specializes in delivering live global sporting events through all platforms and is available through the DISH Network, Cablevision’s Optimum TV, Mediacom and Google Fiber.
