NBCU Teams Up with New Tech Media Company

NEW YORK: NBCUniversal News Group has entered into a strategic investment and content pact with Revere Digital, a technology-focused media company recently formed by journalists Kara Swisher and Walt Mossberg.

Revere Digital, which is also being backed by Terry Semel's Windsor Media, will oversee Re/code, a digital media and technology news, reviews and analysis website, as well as a worldwide conference business. The collaboration will allow NBCUniversal News Group to increase its presence in Silicon Valley and technology coverage by offering Revere's news stories on NBCUniversal News Group's various media platforms.

Swisher and Mossberg, as well as other Revere reporters, will be featured on-air on all of News Group's properties. Content from Re/code will be distributed at the same time to News Group's television and digital properties.

CNBC is partnering with Revere for its global conferences. In addition, Revere Digital and NBCU will be working together on advertising opportunities.

Patricia Fili-Krushel, chairman of NBCUniversal News Group, stated: "Kara and Walt are two of the most knowledgeable, well-connected and respected technology journalists working today. They built an incredible brand and business with 'AllThingsD,' and we are very excited about partnering with them in this new venture and deepening our engagement in this rapidly changing technology market."

Swisher and Mossberg added: "We are excited to work with the NBCUniversal News Group, especially because its interest in investing in Revere displays exactly the kind of innovative and forward thinking that is necessary in the fast-changing new digital environment. What doesn't change is our mutual commitment to excellence in bringing quality journalism to the widest possible audience, which the News Group provides every day through its highly respected news operation."
